ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,616,223, issued on May 5, was assigned to Suntory Holdings Ltd. (Osaka, Japan).

"Solid composition having floral scent" was invented by Taisuke Osanai (Kanagawa, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An object of the present invention is to provide a solid composition that provides excellent floral aroma when added to a medium such as water. In the solid composition, linalool and 1-penten-3-one are incorporated, and a weight ratio of linalool content to 1-penten-3-one content is adjusted to not less than 30."

The patent was filed on March 9, 2022, under Application No. 18/284,136.
