US Patent Issued to SUNMED THERAPEUTIC on Oct. 6 for "Anti-galectin 3 antibodies and their use in epilepsy and related diseases" (Chinese Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,752,015, issued on Oct. 6, was assigned to SUNMED THERAPEUTIC Ltd. (Hong Kong).

"Anti-galectin 3 antibodies and their use in epilepsy and related diseases" was invented by Dongxu Sun (Shenzhen, China).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are antibodies that target Galectin-3. Such antibodies are used in methods of treating epilepsy and related neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD)."

The patent was filed on Oct. 1, 2025, under Application No. 19/347,462.
