ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,606,744, issued on April 21, was assigned to SUN CHEMICAL Corp. (Parsippany, N.J.).
"Zinc pigment for waterborne corrosion coatings" was invented by Jami Bennett (Cincinnati) and Jonathan Doll (Cincinnati).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A treated zinc pigment that provides cathodic corrosion protection in aqueous zinc-rich coatings is described. The treated zinc pigment shows reduced gas generation in aqueous formulation."
The patent was filed on June 13, 2023, under Application No. 18/208,973.
