ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,167, issued on June 23, was assigned to SPCI LLC (Tampa, Fla.).
"Sheath for percutaneous cable insertion (SPCI)" was invented by Eric M. Lindvall (Clovis, Calif.) and Marshall Simmons (Tampa, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cable passer sheath engages the end hole of a cable passer. The sheath includes an outer body having an outer diameter and having a cable passer engagement opening at a cable passer engagement end thereof and a cable engagement opening at a cable engagement end thereof. The cable passer engagement opening and cable engagement opening are connected by a passage through the outer body."
