ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,567,514, issued on March 3, was assigned to Southwire Co. LLC (Carrollton, Ga.).
"Low sag tree wire" was invented by Charles L. Holcombe (Newnan, Ga.), Drew Wallace Pearson (Villa Rica, Ga.), Joachim Axel Schlumberger (Atlanta) and Barrett M. Kimball (Bremen, Ga.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein is a tree wire and a method of preparing the same. The tree wire disclosed herein has an improved ampacity compared to a conventional ACSR tree wire, as well as reduced sag compared to a conventional ACSR bare conductor and/or ACSR tree wire."
The patent was filed on Oct. 30, 2020, under Application No. 17/085,383.
