US Patent Issued to SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT on June 23 for "Like button" (California Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,592, issued on June 23, was assigned to SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT INC. (Tokyo).

"Like button" was invented by Yutaka Yokokawa (San Mateo, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A "like" button is provided on a computer simulation controller to make it convenient for a player of a computer simulation to register a "like", which can be monetized."

The patent was filed on Oct. 23, 2019, under Application No. 16/660,803.
