US Patent Issued to Sony Group on June 30 for "Image generation apparatus and image generation method" (Japanese Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,671,909, issued on June 30, was assigned to Sony Group Corp. (Tokyo).

"Image generation apparatus and image generation method" was invented by Daisuke Kawamata (Kanagawa, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is an image generation unit that generates a plurality of simulation images in which a plurality of images having different accumulation times is reproduced on the basis of a physical quantity corresponding to light applied to an image sensor, and an HDR synthesis unit performs HDR synthesis on a plurality of simulation images."
