ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,668,199, issued on June 30, was assigned to SIKA TECHNOLOGY AG (Baar, Switzerland).
"Insulating element" was invented by Henrik Lindgren (Feluy, Belgium) and Dimitri Marcq (Tubize, Belgium).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An insulating element for insulating a structural element in a motor vehicle, including a carrier and an expandable material arranged on the carrier. The carrier has at least one dome and is designed in such a manner that, when stacking a plurality of identical insulating elements, respective domes of adjacent insulating elements engage in one another."
