US Patent Issued to Siemens Energy Global on Sept. 22 for "Vacuum switching unit and vacuum circuit breaker" (German Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,744,172, issued on Sept. 22, was assigned to Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG (Munich).

"Vacuum switching unit and vacuum circuit breaker" was invented by Paul Gregor Nikolic (Erlangen, Germany), Katrin Benkert (Schwaig, Germany) and Tobias Alexander Goebels (Issum, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vacuum switching unit of a vacuum circuit breaker has a vacuum interrupter, an insulating sleeve which surrounds the vacuum interrupter, extends tubularly about a longitudinal axis of the vacuum interrupter and is made of an insulating material. A plurality of capacitor electrodes are integrated into the insulating sleeve."
