US Patent Issued to Shakespeare on Sept. 15 for "Biobased nylon with improved degradation" (Maryland, South Carolina Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,735,567, issued on Sept. 15, was assigned to Shakespeare Co. LLC (Greer, S.C.).

"Biobased nylon with improved degradation" was invented by Saumitra Bhargava (Clarksville, Md.), Samantha M. Sanders (Columbia, S.C.) and Piyush Dave (Elgin, S.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Trimmer line compositions and methods for forming trimmer line compositions are provided. The trimmer line compositions include a biodegradable toughening agent and polycaprolactone and advantageously increase the degradability of the trimmer line with minimal-to-no impact on the performance of the composition as trimmer line."
