ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,626,120, issued on May 12, was assigned to Schlumberger Technology Corp. (Sugar Land, Texas).
"Automated pixel-wise labeling of rock cuttings based on convolutional neural network-based edge detection" was invented by Richa Sharma (Cambridge, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method, workflow and system for automated classification of rock cuttings based on two tasks: (i) pixel-wise labeling of rock cutting images based on a convolutional neural network-based edge detection scheme; and (ii) training a general purpose deep learning model for classification of heterogeneous rock cutting mixtures based on the underlying texture."
