ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,164, issued on June 23, was assigned to SB engineering Co. LTD. (Seongnam-si, South Korea).
"Safety board system" was invented by Yong Seok Won (Seoul, South Korea) and Seung Hyun Yeo (Gwangmyeong-si, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a safety board system. The safety board system of the present invention can directly assist the movement of mobility disadvantaged persons crossing the pedestrian crossing, leading to rapid and safe crossing."
