US Patent Issued to Samsung SDI on Sept. 29 for "I-III-VI based quantum dots and fabrication method thereof" (South Korean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,747,388, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. (Yongin-si, South Korea).

"I-III-VI based quantum dots and fabrication method thereof" was invented by Hee-Sun Yang (Seoul, South Korea) and Yuri Kim (Gimpo-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Proposed are I-III-VI based quantum dots with high efficiency visible light emission for use as display materials and a method for fabricating the same. The quantum dots include a quantum dot core of Group 11-Group 13-Group 16, and Group 17 element attached to a surface of the quantum dot core."

The patent was filed on March 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/190,832.
