ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,637,740, issued on May 26, was assigned to SAFRAN (Paris), TIMET SAVOIE (Ugine, France), CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE (Paris), UNIVERSITE DE LORRAINE (Nancy, France) and OFFICE NATIONAL D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES AEROSPATIALES (Palaiseau, France).

"Titanium alloy" was invented by Edern Menou (Moissy-Cramayel, France), Jerome Delfosse (Moissy-Cramayel, France) and Yvon Millet (Villeurbanne, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A titanium alloy includes, in content by weight 4.0% to 5.0% aluminium; 3.50% to 4.50% tin; 1.0% to 4.0% zirconium; 2.0% to 5.25% molybdenum; 1.0% to 2.50% niobium; 0.10% to 0.25% silicon; 0.10% to 0....
