"Remote control" was invented by Cornell J. Cantos (Milpitas, Calif.), Gregory Michael Hogan (Fresno, Calif.), Lihong Zhong (Huizhou, China), Kyle Splittgerber (San Jose, Calif.) and Dustin Verhoeve (Santa Cruz, Calif.).
