ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,679,795, issued on July 14, was assigned to ROHM AND HAAS COMPANY (Collegeville, Pa.).

"Production of acrolein or acrylic acid from iso-propanol with high yeild and low cost" was invented by Jinsuo Xu (Berwyn, Pa.) and Daniel A. Bors (Maple Glen, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Acrolein is produced by selectively oxidizing iso-propanol over a first mixed metal oxide catalyst in the presence of oxygen in the vapor phase.
