ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,626, issued on June 23, was assigned to Roche Molecular Systems Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.).
"Dicationic fluorescent dyes" was invented by Alexander Nierth (Dublin, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides for water-soluble mono- and dicationic fluorescent dyes with the latter exhibiting stable fluorescence at elevated temperatures. The present invention also provides for methods for the production of the fluorescent dyes and for using these dyes in biological assays such as multiplexing qPCR and tissue staining."
The patent was filed on Dec. 7, 2020, under Application No. 17/756,810.
