ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,579,672, issued on March 17, was assigned to Rivian IP Holdings LLC (Irvine, Calif.).

"Stereo vision-based height clearance detection" was invented by Shangzhou Ye (Santa Clara, Calif.) and Hui Zhou (Sunnyvale, Calif.).
