US Patent Issued to Rivian IP Holdings on June 2 for "Vehicle door" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,643,379, issued on June 2, was assigned to Rivian IP Holdings LLC (Irvine, Calif.).

"Vehicle door" was invented by Ruey-Khan Kenneth Tsang (Tustin, Calif.), Austin Simpson (Huntington Beach, Calif.), William Thomas Wanstall (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Kevin Dean Kline (Mission Viejo, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus can include a door. The door can be configured to couple with a side of a vehicle. The door can include a step. The door can move the step."

The patent was filed on March 31, 2023, under Application No. 18/194,265.
