ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,749,978, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to Renesas Electronics Corp. (Tokyo).
"Power stage controller" was invented by Adam Matthew Bumgarner (Duluth, Ga.) and Benoit Labbe (Harlow, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A controller for controlling a power stage having a plurality of phases is presented. The controller generates a control signal; sends the control signal to the plurality of phases via a first link; receives from each phase a feedback signal via a second link; sums the plurality of feedback signals and derives an average current per phase."
