ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,547, issued on March 17, was assigned to REGENERON PHARMACEUTICALS INC. (Tarrytown, N.Y.).

"PDCD-1 homing endonuclease variants" was invented by Jordan Jarjour (Seattle), Kyle Havens (Seattle) and Jasdeep Mann (Lake Forest Park, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides improved homing endonuclease variants and megaTALs reprogrammed to bind and cleave the PDCD-1 gene."

The patent was filed on Dec. 9, 2019, under Application No. 17/311,455.
