US Patent Issued to Quarry Trail on June 30 for "Fly tying tool" (Utah Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,092, issued on June 30, was assigned to Quarry Trail LLC (Salt Lake City).

"Fly tying tool" was invented by David Alonzo Rupp (Salt Lake City).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fly tying tool can include a base and a shaft that rotates relative to the base. The shaft can form a fly securing portion that includes a magnet by which a fly can be secured to the shaft. The fly securing portion can also include a hook feature spaced from the magnet to form a recess in which the fly may be placed. The shaft can include a threading structure in the form of a spiral to facilitate threading a line through the eye of a hook."
