US Patent Issued to QUALCOMM on June 2 for "UE with backscattering radio" (New Jersey, Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,647,966, issued on June 2, was assigned to QUALCOMM Inc. (San Diego).

"UE with backscattering radio" was invented by Xiaojie Wang (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Junyi Li (Fairless Hills, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for backscatter communication (BC) are included. An example method may include transmitting an indication of a backscattering radio (BR) capability to a network entity. The example method may also include receiving a first message from the network entity, the first message indicating that the UE is to remain on a main radio (MR) state or transition to a BR state."
