ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,740,772, issued on Sept. 22, was assigned to PYRAMID INNOVATION LTD (Polegate, Great Britain).

"Laboratory sample carrier" was invented by Thomas Fergus Hughes (Netherfield, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A laboratory sample cassette (1) comprises a main body (2) having a writing surface (3), and at least two protrusions (14) extending from the writing surface (3). Each said protrusion (14) has substantially the same height from the writing surface (3)."
