US Patent Issued to Purina Animal Nutrition on April 14 for "Mitigation of cryptosporidiosis using hydrogen peroxide-generating compositions" (Colorado, Vermont Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,628, issued on April 14, was assigned to Purina Animal Nutrition LLC (Arden Hills, Mich.).

"Mitigation of cryptosporidiosis using hydrogen peroxide-generating compositions" was invented by Kay Russo (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Theodore Karnezos (Colchester, Vt.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions for preventing or decreasing cryptosporidiosis include sources of hydrogen peroxide and are fed to animals. The animals may be neonatal calves and the cryptosporidiosis may be caused by Cryptosporidium parvum.
