ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,606,863, issued on April 21, was assigned to Promega Corp. (Madison, Wis.).
"Bioluminescent detection of DNA synthesis" was invented by Wenhui Zhou (Madison, Wis.), Hui Wang (Madison, Wis.), Min Zhou (Madison, Wis.), Natasha Karassina (Madison, Wis.), James Cali (Madison, Wis.) and Jolanta Vidugiriene (Madison, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are reagents and methods for incorporating modified nucleotides into DNA and detecting DNA synthesis. In particular, haloalkyl-modified nucleobases are provided for incorporation into nucleic acids for detection by bioluminescent binding agents."
