ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,595,403, issued on April 7, was assigned to Phase Change Energy Solutions Inc. (Greensboro, N.C.).

"Thermal energy storage compositions and methods of using the same" was invented by Reyad I. Sawafta (Greensboro, N.C.) and Venu Gopal Kuturu (Greensboro, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In one aspect, thermal energy storage compositions are described herein. In some embodiments, a composition comprises 0.5-10 wt. % polysaccharide and 88-99.5 wt. % water, wherein the weight percentages are based on the total weight of the composition. Moreover, in some cases, the composition is shape stable at 20deg C. and 1 atm."
