US Patent Issued to PayPal on June 16 for "Digital verification of users based on real-time video stream" (Indian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,657,951, issued on June 16, was assigned to PayPal Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"Digital verification of users based on real-time video stream" was invented by Vishal Kumar Singh (Howrah, India), Padmapriya Mohankumar (Chennai, India) and Ashraf Kamal (New Delhi).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Techniques are disclosed relating to receiving, by a computer system from a user, a request to authorize the user. The technique may further include receiving, by the computer system, a live video stream of the user, and requesting, by the computer system, the user to submit an identification document from a list of authorized identification documents. ...
