ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,553,602, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co. Ltd. (Osaka, Japan).

"Built-in ventilation fan" was invented by Daisuke Ogawa (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An annular light emitting unit emits light from the inside of a louver toward an outer circumference, with respect to the entire circumference direction. A surface emitting unit emits light in a vertical direction directed opposite to a casing. Light intensity of the surface emitting unit is greater than light intensity of the annular light emitting unit."
