ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,692,652, issued on July 28, was assigned to Owens Corning Intellectual Capital LLC (Toledo, Ohio).
"Renovation ceiling mat" was invented by Domenico Lacamera (Breda, Netherlands) and Sander C. Hagens (Amersfoort, Netherlands).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mat for covering at least part of a ceiling made up of individual tiles. The mat renovates (e.g., improves, alters) the appearance of the ceiling. The mat is constructed so as to not impede the acoustical performance of the tiles being covered."
The patent was filed on Aug. 3, 2018, under Application No. 16/325,990.
