ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,715,661, issued on Aug. 25, was assigned to Owens-Brockway Glass Container Inc. (Perrysburg, Ohio).

"Flexible closure and package including a flexible closure" was invented by Brian Chisholm (Evanston, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A closure for a container includes a radially extending elastomeric bead that is pressed against a sealing surface of the container when coupled with the container."
