US Patent Issued to Olympus Medical Systems on Sept. 1 for "Endoscope" (Japanese Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 1 -- United States Patent no. 12,721,507, issued on Sept. 1, was assigned to Olympus Medical Systems Corp. (Tokyo).

"Endoscope" was invented by Tomomichi Onoe (Hachioji, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An endoscope of the disclosure includes an insertion section including a conduit having an inner surface. The inner surface comprises a first projecting portion provided at a first position, and a second projecting portion provided at a second position. In a longitudinal direction of the insertion section, the first position is different from the second position."

The patent was filed on Jan. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/102,148.
