ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,687,096, issued on July 21, was assigned to Occidental Oil and Gas Corp. (Houston).
"Process for crude oil stabilization by separating gases from oil production streams" was invented by Andres S. Lopez (Katy, Texas) and Byron Griffin (Houston).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for stabilizing crude oil by separating a crude oil stream into a gaseous stream and a liquid-rich stream, and then employing at least a portion of the gaseous stream to assist in the further separating of gases entrained in the liquid-rich stream."
