US Patent Issued to NVIDIA on Sept. 8 for "Map updates" (American, German Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,729,978, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Map updates" was invented by Razvan Orendovici (Munich), Vladimir Shestak (Boulder, Colo.), James Denney (Olalla, Wash.) and Galen Collins (Seattle).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In various examples, segmented map creation for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems and applications is described herein. For instance, systems and methods described herein may segment a map into various portions, where the systems and methods then update the map based at least on the segmentation.
