ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,769,548, issued on Oct. 20, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Memory modification technique using metrics" was invented by David Allan Berson (Portland, Ore.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to allocate and/or assign registers. In at least one embodiment, registers are allocated based, at least in part, on a set of estimated performance metrics associated with transformations generated prior to a register allocation phase of compilation."
