US Patent Issued to NVIDIA on June 16 for "Discontinuous transmission detection" (California, Texas Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,659,861, issued on June 16, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Discontinuous transmission detection" was invented by Yan Huang (Santa Clara, Calif.), Xiangguo Tang (Pleasanton, Calif.), James Hansen Delfeld (Austin, Texas) and Christian Ibars Casas (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to detect whether fifth-generation new radio (5G-NR) devices are transmitting data. In at least one embodiment, a receiver detects whether 5G-NR devices are transmitting 5G-NR signals based on a number of 5G-NR devices sharing a same time and frequency."
