ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,597,152, issued on April 7, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).
"Parallel block matching" was invented by Louis Marie Joseph Sugy (Munich).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to perform block matching. In at least one embodiment, distances to objects in images are calculated based, at least in part, on overlapping portions of the images."
The patent was filed on Sept. 11, 2023, under Application No. 18/244,658.
