ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,625,083, issued on May 12, was assigned to Nokia Technologies Oy (Espoo, Finland).

"Apparatus for detecting defects in a display module" was invented by Marja Pauliina Salmimaa (Tampere, Finland), Miikka Tapani Vilermo (Siuro, Finland) and Tero Simo Ilari Jokela (Tampere, Finland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus includes: a display module configured to output first light; a detector configured to detect the first light; and a defect detector for detecting one or more defects in the display module, based at least in part on the detected first light, the one or more defects including defects formed at a time of manufacturing."
