ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,668,852, issued on June 30, was assigned to NIPPON STEEL Corp. (Tokyo).

"Steel sheet and method of manufacturing the same" was invented by Hideto Hiroshima (Tokyo), Takashi Yasutomi (Tokyo) and Eisaku Sakurada (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This steel sheet has a predetermined chemical composition, has a microstructure in which a number density of alloy carbides present at grain boundaries and having a major axis of 10 to 100 nm is 1.0x108 to 1.0x1011/cm2 and a number density of alloy carbides present in grains and having a major axis of 10 nm or less is 1.0x1016 to 1.0x1019/cm3, and has a tensile strength of 1,030 MPa or more." ...
