ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,059, issued on June 23, was assigned to New York Society for the Relief of the Ruptured and Crippled, maintaining the Hospital for Special Surgery (New York).

"Apparatus and method for assessing laxity of a joint" was invented by Carl Imhauser (South Orange, N.J.) and Zaid Adel Zayyad (Chicago).
