ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,986, issued on May 12, was assigned to Nederlandse Organisatie voor toegepast-natuurwetenschappelijk onderzoek TNO ('s-Gravenhage, Netherlands).

"Photo-acoustic conversion based sound emitter device" was invented by Maurits Sebastiaan Van Der Heiden ('s-Gravenhage, Netherlands), Paul Louis Maria Joseph Van Neer (Bergschenhoek, Netherlands), Peter Johan Harmsma (Meuten, Netherlands), Robert Karl Altmann (Abcoude, Netherlands) and Daniele Piras (Amsterdam).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The photo-acoustic conversion based sound emitter device has a sound output surface for transmitting sound wave vibrations to a medium outside the device...
