US Patent Issued to NANORAMIC on May 19 for "Advanced lithium-ion energy storage device" (Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,633,468, issued on May 19, was assigned to NANORAMIC INC. (Woburn, Mass.).

"Advanced lithium-ion energy storage device" was invented by Ji Chen (Boston), Wanjun Ben Cao (Boston), Kitae Park (Brookline, Mass.), Nicolo M. Brambilla (Brookline, Mass.), John Hyde (Ashland, Mass.), Jin Yan (Melrose, Mass.) and Mackenzie Cash (Boston).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lithium ion capacitor includes binder free positive and negative electrode active layers. The capacitor exhibits high energy density, power density and cycle life and provides a good compromise in performance between an electric double layer capacitor and a lithium ion battery."
