US Patent Issued to Mitsubishi Chemical on July 28 for "Catalyst" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,691,438, issued on July 28, was assigned to Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. (Tokyo).

"Catalyst" was invented by Kensuke Nishiki (Tokyo), Takuro Watanabe (Tokyo) and Tetsufumi Yamaguchi (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An object of the present invention is to provide a catalyst capable of improving the selectivity of unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids, and a catalyst containing molybdenum, antimony, bismuth, and iron, wherein an atom ratio of the antimony to the molybdenum on a surface of the catalyst is greater than an atom ratio of the antimony to the molybdenum in the entire catalyst is provided."
