ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,583,927, issued on March 24, was assigned to MINERVA BIOTECHNOLOGIES Corp. (Waltham, Mass.).

"Anti-variable MUC1* antibodies and uses thereof" was invented by Cynthia Bamdad (Waltham, Mass.) and Benoit Smagghe (Waltham, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present application discloses an antibody, or fragment thereof, for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of cancers wherein the antibody specifically binds to the PSMGFR peptide (SEQ ID NO:2) or a fragment thereof of the peptide."
