ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,603,023, issued on April 14, was assigned to Meta Platforms Technologies LLC (Menlo Park, Calif.).
"Light modulation for foveated display" was invented by Kai-Han Chang (Troy, Mich.) and Yu-Jen Wang (San Jose, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Gaze data of a user is received. A display zone corresponding to the gaze data is identified. The display zone is a portion of a display pixel array. The display light generated by the display zone is modulated to shift an optical path of the display light within the display zone."
The patent was filed on April 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/640,817.
