ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,625,557, issued on May 12, was assigned to Meta Platforms Inc. (Menlo Park, Calif.).

"Detecting head gestures using inertial measurement unit signals" was invented by Shervin Ghasemlou (Redmond, Wash.), Devashish Prasad Joshi (Menlo Park, Calif.), Rongzhou Shen (Kirkland, Wash.) and Riza Kazemi (Vancouver, Canada).
