ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,585,160, issued on March 24, was assigned to MERCK PATENT GMBH (Darmstadt, Germany).
"Liquid-crystalline medium" was invented by Hoo-Yong Lee (Pyeongtaek, South Korea) and Hyun-Jin Yoon (Pyeongtaek, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A liquid-crystalline media having a negative dielectric anisotropy and a high clearing point as specified herein, is suitable for use of in switchable optical cells in window elements, in particular laminated window elements."
The patent was filed on July 15, 2021, under Application No. 17/376,702.
