US Patent Issued to Medtronic Navigation on July 21 for "Nasal patient tracking device and method of using the same" (Austrian Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,685,601, issued on July 21, was assigned to Medtronic Navigation Inc. (Lafayette, Colo.).

"Nasal patient tracking device and method of using the same" was invented by Stefan Wolfsberger (Vienna).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A patient tracking device for insertion into a body cavity includes a flexible conformable sensor housing having a sensor cavity therein. The housing conforms to the body cavity when inserted therein. A sensor is disposed within the housing."

The patent was filed on Oct. 3, 2024, under Application No. 18/905,698.
