ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,644,468, issued on June 2, was assigned to MAHLE International GmbH (Stuttgart, Germany).
"Fan wheel" was invented by Markus Schatz (Fellbach, Germany), Stefan Schmidgall (Stuttgart, Germany) and Uwe Aschermann (Karlsruhe, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fan wheel with successive blades is provided.Noise generation is reduced in that the widths and thicknesses of at least one of the blades vary over its length.A fan that contains such a fan wheel is provided."
The patent was filed on Sept. 25, 2025, under Application No. 19/340,258.
