ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,689,280, issued on July 21, was assigned to Magswitch Automation Co. (Superior, Colo.).

"Magnetic coupling device" was invented by David H. Morton (Boulder, Colo.), Paul J. Karp (Thornton, Colo.) and Yiwei Yan (Broomfield, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Magnetic coupling devices are disclosed. The magnetic coupling devices may include at least one permanent magnet and at least one ferromagnetic core. The at least one permanent magnet may surround the at least one ferromagnetic core."

The patent was filed on May 20, 2025, under Application No. 19/213,305.
